Tracey Emin – ‘It was all about loving you’
Her journey began in 1995 when she founded the Lan Kwai Fong Gallery in Hong Kong before relocating to London. Even after the move, she continued consulting for banks and private and corporate collections across Asia. In 1998, she established her London gallery, and in 2012, she returned to Hong Kong with a new space, reinforcing her role as a bridge between Eastern and Western art.
“As an art dealer, I cut my teeth in Hong Kong, and I have always been inspired by the collectors I met there—many of whom I continue to work with today,” says Baxter.
Among Baxter’s esteemed clientele are Kerry Properties Limited, owned by the Kuok family; Hong Kong socialite and philanthropist Alice Chiu, founder of the Sheen Hok Charitable Foundation; and Mervyn Davies, former Chairman of Standard Chartered Bank, for whom she curated an international art collection in 1999. Lord and Lady Davies remain actively engaged in the art world—Lord Davies served as Chairman of the Royal Academy of Arts from 2016 to 2019—and they continue to collaborate with Baxter on exhibitions in Hong Kong.

Pip Todd-Warmoth – ‘Flapper Race, Ireland, 2024’
In 1997, the late Sir David Tang Wing-cheung curated an exhibition at his renowned venue, The China Club, showcasing 25 exquisite realist landscapes by British artist Pip Todd Warmoth, a Royal Academy graduate whom Sir David had first encountered at The Royal Academy Summer Exhibition. It was on this occasion that he introduced Todd Warmoth to Lord Chris Patten, the last British Governor of Hong Kong, who became a major collector of his work. It was also at The China Club that Tanya Baxter first met the artist—a meeting that would change both their lives. The two later married and now balance a dynamic family life with their shared passion for art in London.
