Demand for British & Chinese artists has skyrocketed. Interest in artists such as Bridget Riley, Auerbach, and Moore and lately of Hoyland, Heath and Scully is widespread; there is a sudden appeal of these artists to audiences both in the United States and Asia. Bridget Riley and Frank Auerbach are both in their late 80s and the demand for their work follows similar trends to that of Freud and Hockney, who are already hugely popular.

Riley recently set a new record at auction with the sale of Diagonal Curve which sold for £4.3 million at Christie’s London in 2016, and Hockney’s Portrait of an Artist (Pool with Two Figures) broke the auction record for a work by a living artist when it sold at Christie’s London last year.

Sean Scully continues to break auction records and is one of the most successful transatlantic contemporary artists, with soaring prices both in the States and in Europe. Demand for Chinese artists Yue Minjun and Zeng Chuanxing is on the rise with both artists continuing to break auction records. Newcomer Adam Chang’s prices have increased significantly in the past several years, and Taiwanese master sculptor Ju Ming’s works are sought by a widening international collector base.
